Nonsense AS THE MEANING
Leonardo Vittorio ArenaContemporary
philosophy changed the direction of the philosophical inquiry from the truth to
the problem of meaning. Which is the meaning of life? This is the question,
that, after Nietzsche, should be answered by converting the philosopher into a
psychologist, who may understand the innermost motives of human beings, and of
theoreticians. Every philosophy conceals into it the worm of contradiction and
it derives from the instincts of his creator. Taking shelter from the mirage of
an objective and universal truth, the supporter of nonsense turns to art, in
particular to music, to fight the exorcists of nudity, they who made human
beings believe they would waste their life in a search for meaning, sacrificing
their spontaneity and immediacy. The author draws on the greatest philosophers
in the East and in the West, to build a philosophy teaching human beings to
dance and distrust in the would-be masters, so that they may search for the
meaning of existence inside themselves, through their personal experience. The
philosophy of nonsense is the only way out of nihilism, though taking it into
account, and that shows men and women a path beyond the dualisms which so far
have blocked them in an empty direction to meaning.
